However, until recently, digital printing didn't have the same quality and color capabilities as offset printing. On the other hand, digital printing is the simplest method for producing marketing materials and other short runs. But now, Xerox is upending the field by delivering brand-new color possibilities, prints of such high quality that they cannot be distinguished from those produced by printing presses, and production equipment that can also handle big volumes.

Typically, when you image a newspaper press or a large magazine production system, offset printing comes to mind. It includes producing colors and images using wet ink and printing plates and is renowned for its color control and excellent imaging. However, offset printing doesn't make much sense for short runs of brochures, business cards, posters, and other marketing materials. Offset printing is economically viable for companies who print very high volumes of images, such as magazines and newspapers.
